In the aftermath of the tragic earthquake in Nepal, we have seen significant uptake of free Skype calls to landlines and mobiles in and out of the country. In order to continue providing support over a longer term, we will continue to offer free Skype calls from Nepal to landlines and mobiles worldwide for at least another month. From 11.59 am PDT today, Skype calls to landlines and mobiles into Nepal will be charged at a discounted rate of $0.10/minute. (Skype to Skype audio/video calls continue to be free).

In light of the devastating events that have taken place in Nepal - and the subsequent impact to the local communications infrastructure - we are making all Skype calls to landlines and mobiles in and out of Nepal free of charge, with immediate effect.
With the extent of the devastation still to be fully determined, we want to help people try alternative methods of communication to reach friends and family in the region.
